hey all, i thought id take my dab at creating a bootscreen, i haven't looked at where to go from here though, here's my "badger test" bootscreen animation, please leave feedback for improvements, and could someone tell me the next steps & settings for exporting this from Photoshop cs4, the desc.txt file & packaging, im sure there's specific things I need to set! Cheers!
Hi Sorry on phone at moment but on xda there is an auto on-screen converter as long as the files are .pngs
I did a quick and dirty hack of your animated gif. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6778056/villainHERObadgers.zip remount and push to /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Ausom! Ill try and export all the frames properly when i get back from work tonight! and we'll get this up and released!
Nice, it worked!.. a little fast.. I tryed about 10 times to package it myself but it just wont boot, black screen :/ I'll attach the uncompressed zip i created i created on my mac via the terminal so it was uncompressed, can someone tell me what im doing wrong? i understand the desc.txt file now, so i thing that fine.. its so frustrating! http://www.mediafire.com/file/7x1rhbaelvf7ubd/bootanimation.zip
Nah, i run V12.. i pushed acolwill's and it worked! i just don't understand why the .zip i made isnt working, do you have to have specific PNG's or something?
you need to name the png's in the same format as in the desc.txt loop must have a directory named loop with png's called loop_01, 02, 03, etc etc
look at this for the desc http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/9163-desc-txt-boot-animations-works-like.html#post77059 don't forget to put the zip file in store mode only! !
GodsDead - this is awesome. You should definatley make some more. Makes me smile whenever I reboot the phone. Thanks
